If You Owned Your Fear, What Could You Do? February 13, 2020 – Posted in: Lifestyle
Fear is an epidemic. It can either be your best friend or your dreaded foe. It has the power to invoke in you the sense of a foreshortened future with all its twists and turns. Fear can grip your mind and find its way down corridors of the past, that never seem to let go!
Your first instinct may be to run the other way or collapse under the weight of your fear and play dead, like a frightened animal caught in the mouth of its prey.
But Wait…
“You don’t have to be fearless to be brave”
What would you think if I told you that using your precious energy to avoid fear, will increase it more?
Definition of avoidance
1 : an act or practice of avoiding or withdrawing from something
Merriam-Webster
For every act or practice in our lives, there is always a result. Avoidance is a temporary band-aid at best, and if it becomes a sustained pattern in life, you will miss out on some of life’s greatest lessons and opportunities:
- The words you could’ve said and the deeds you could’ve done in someone’s life while they were still alive
- The wounds you could’ve exposed to the light of healing
- The dress you wanted but never wore because you judged your body to be unworthy
- The Yes to a job offer, relocation, or love interest and more…
What if instead, you chose to be…
Brave : Ready to face and endure danger or pain, showing courage
By owning your fear, you take back your power; you become a conqueror!
Instead of avoidance closing doors, bravery opens them. You become free to be the real you.
The world needs you and is waiting for you, fellow warrior. We hope to see you soon!
